Hihi / Stitchbird (by Luke Jacomb)

One of rarest birds in Aotearoa, the Hihi is a medium sized forest dweller endemic to the North Island. Having become extinct on the mainland in the late 19^th century, the only naturally surviving population is today found on Te Hauturu-o-Toi in Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf.
